Wilkes University alumnus Joseph P. Lavelle ’79 of Washington, D.C., was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, a peer-reviewed ranking recognizing lawyers for their professional excellence across the United States. This is the 26th edition of the publication.
Lavelle graduated from Wilkes in 1979 with a bachelor of science in physics. Lavelle is an experienced patent lawyer, focusing primarily on the preparation and trial of patent infringement cases. He has more than 25 years of experience litigating patent cases in most areas of technology, including semiconductors, computers, computer software, telephony, Digital Signal Processing, telematics, waveform encoding, automotive technology, financial services, biotechnology and many others. He is currently employed by DLA Piper, a global law firm.
