Wilkes University’s final United Nations Lecture of the spring semester 2020 will be made available to the community via Zoom. The Permanent Representative from Costa Rica to the United Nations, Ambassador Rodrigo A. Carazo, will be presenting the lecture “Small Country in World Affairs.” The lecture is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. Members of the community can access the lecture via an internet connection using the link below.
Carazo is the permanent representative of Costa Rica to the United Nations. He has also served as a consultant for international organizations (governmental, intergovernmental, non-governmental) as well as for private entities and has 48 years of experience as a businessman in commercial, industrial, tourist,
agricultural and service sectors.
He also served as a university professor in Costa Rica at the University of Peace, is a board member of the public Distance University in Costa Rica, and has served as a university professor in the United States. He holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica, and a degree in economic and social sciences from the University of Costa Rica, a doctorate in political science and international relations from the University of Geneva- Switzerland and has completed further studies in history and international law.
Presented in partnership with the Humpty Dumpty Institute’s Higher Education Alliance for the United Nations, Wilkes’ U.N. Lecture series brings U.N officials to campus for lectures and informal meetings with students. Wilkes University is the only northeast Pennsylvania higher education institution participating in the program.
