Wilkes University’s Nesbitt School of Pharmacy is providing high school juniors and seniors with a prescription for a successful career during the Discover Pharmacy Day Camp. The two-day camp began Aug. 13 concludes Aug.14.

High school students have completed hands-on activities with current pharmacy students, faculty, deans and working pharmacists to introduce them to pharmacy’s dynamic blend of science and patient care.

Activities include:

  • Extracting DNA from strawberries
  • Training to use life-saving naloxone
  • Creating aromatherapy-infused lip balm
  • Making bath bombs
  • Getting out of a pharmacy escape room

Students have learned how to prepare for and apply to the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, get a glimpse at life as a student pharmacist at Wilkes and hear about the variety of rewarding career paths available to pharmacists.
