In this post I share the story of a Wilkes hero, Sgt. Alessandro “Sandrino” Plutino. Army sergeant Allesandro Plutino, a native of Pittman, NJ joined the army after he graduated from Wilkes in 2005. Immediately following 9/11, Allesandro wanted to join the Marines, but was unable because of injury. He persisted after his graduation and was still rejected because of athletics injuries from his wrestling career. He rehabbed and trained and eventually was able to enlist…
