Students gathered on the Fenner Quadrangle before the first Opioid Awareness Walk in two years.

The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy student chapter of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) held an Opioid Awareness Walk on Wednesday, April 13 that begin at the Fenner Quadrangle, continued to Kirby Park and returned to campus.

The annual event returned after a two-year hiatus, and kicked off with a visit from Wilkes-Barre mayor George C. Brown. The goal of the walk was to educate the community about opioid misuse and raise funds for the Wilkes-Barre Fire Department to purchase Naloxone, a medication meant to help reverse the effects of opioids.
