Wilkes University awarded 277 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees to winter graduates.
Among those receiving their degrees are the University’s first graduates from the elementary and early childhood education degree-completion program. The online program caters to working adults who cannot earn their bachelor’s degree in a traditional, face-to-face format.
It created a pathway for students who have completed 55 credits or an associate degree, allowing them to earn a bachelor’s degree in elementary and early childhood education with certification in Pennsylvania. Graduates are:
- Marissa Blackburn, Wyoming, Pa.
- Melissa Kramer, White Haven. Pa.
- Donna Kilgore, Forty Fort, Pa.
All three students benefited from the T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education And Compensation Helps) Early Childhood Pennsylvania Scholarship which offers financial assistance to early childcare professionals in Keystone STARS facilities who wish to advance their education and expertise and move up the career lattice.
A ceremony honoring winter and spring 2022 graduates will be held in May.
