Two students from the Wilkes University Sidhu School of Business and Leadership received the Best Undergraduate Research Proposal Presentation Award during the 2019 Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Conference for Researchers, Educators, Practitioners and Students (THEREPS). The students, Mingzhu Yue and Kacee Diehl, worked with assistant professor of hospitality leadership HyeRyeon Lee on their study. The event was held on April 12 in Las Vegas, Nev.
The students were recognized for their study entitled, “Understanding Chinese Generation Y Travelers’ Preferences on International Travel Decisions: A Uses and Gratification Approach Regarding Social Media.” The results explain the willingness of Chinese Generation Y tourists to seek out and follow travel information available on different social media networks, both before and during their trips.
The research was accepted through a blind review process and presented during the conference.
