The Maslow Family Graduate Program in Creative Writing at Wilkes University is hosting non-credit creative writing community workshops beginning in January 2019. All workshops are open to adults and will be held on the Wilkes campus.
The cost for each workshop series is $65. Advance registration is available through the university’s Continued Learning website wilkes.augusoft.net. The workshops include:
- Memoir: Discovering Your Story
This workshop is for people who have always wanted to write a memoir. It will explore ways to begin, how to write about sensitive subject matter and how to find the threads within their story.

- Cross-Training for Your Pen: Story and Plot
This class is an exercise-driven workshop that will help participants understand the effective plot structure that is essential for telling a captivating story.

- Creative Nonfiction: Writing Our Fears
Writing about our fears is messy and complex. This workshop will look at the craft and technique of several contemporary authors to consider ways to write about subjects that make us feel vulnerable. The class will help participants consider new perspectives and approaches to inform their fearless writing.
