Wilkes University pharmacy graduate Trina Patel of Mechanicsburg, Pa., was recently awarded the 2016 Outstanding Pharmacy Student Award from the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.
The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association is a professional membership organization of more than 2,300 pharmacists and pharmacy students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It promotes the profession through advocacy, education, and communication to enhance patient care and public health.
Trina currently serves as the chair of the student advisory board for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association. Patel also served as the alternate delegate for the student advisory board from 2013 to 2014, as well as the president of the Wilkes chapter of PPA from 2014 to 2015. She attended multiple Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association conferences and legislative days.
Patel was actively involved in other pharmacy organizations including, Phi Lambda Sigma, the American Pharmacists Association, Lambda Kappa Sigma, the Pharmacy Senate, Pre- Pharmacy Club and was a P2 mentor.
