SUMMARY:Artventurers: Pattern-Palooza
DESCRIPTION:Sordoni Gallery Artventurers\, invites young explorers and their families to discover the world of art through creativity\, curiosity\, and hands-on fun. Each session offers a hands-on activity and storytime with the Osterhout Free Library. New Artventurers will receive a free sketch book to collect their badges. \n\n\n\nFor this Artventurers meeting\, we will be exploring pattern with two different activities. Looking at Bauhaus artists\, we will make cut-paper geometric patterns and then create our own tessellations inspired by Islamic art.

SUMMARY:Urinetown\, The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Showings\n\nThursday\, Feb. 19\, 8-10 p.m.\n\n\n\nFriday\, Feb. 20\, 8-10 p.m.\n\n\n\nSaturday\, Feb. 21\, 2-4 p.m.\n\n\n\nSaturday\, Feb. 21\, 2-4 p.m.\n\n\n\nSunday\, Feb. 21\, 2-4 p.m.\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation: Dorothy Dickson Darte Center\n\n\n\nTicket Prices:\n\nAdults: $20\n\n\n\nSeniors & Students: $15\n\n\n\nWilkes Students\, Faculty\, Staff: Free with Wilkes ID\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this side-splitting satire\, water is scarce and Hope is even scarcer. Set in a dystopian world\, citizens must pay a fee to access the public amenities\, the only place to legally use the restroom. These facilities are run and monitored by the richest of society. In a wave of revolution\, the poorest and filthiest of these amenities becomes a number one site for major change.  \n\n\n\nWith an incisive score by Tony winner Mark Hollmann\, hilarious lyrics by Hollman and Tony winner Greg Kotis\, and a plot with thrilling twists and turns\, Urinetown is an “audacious and exhilarating” (The New York Times) take on the classic story of a ragtag group of underdogs coming together against a corrupt power. In this Tony-winning musical\, nothing is safe from criticism — capitalism\, politics\, the establishment\, the anti-establishment\, and even musical theater itself! \n\n\n\nPlease be advised that WUT’s production of Urinetown includes the use of theatrical fog and haze effects\, as well as strobe lighting. These elements may affect audience members who are sensitive to atmospheric effects or flashing lights. Viewer discretion is advised. If you have concerns or require accommodations\, please contact the box office prior to attending the performance.
