Disability and Sexual Assault: Advancing Awareness, Strengthening Safety addresses the overrepresentation of people with disabilities as victims of gender violence and sexual assault and harassment. Through this training participants will learn about disabilities and hidden disabilities, understand why people with disabilities may not disclose their disabilities, identify strategies for recognizing the challenges that individuals may experience, learn how to effectively help foster a more inclusive environment and help anyone with disabilities who have experienced sexual harassment or sexual violence get support. This workshop will take place in SIMMS 231 and is open to faculty, staff, and students.
