COVID-19 Update: Wilkes University Extends Remote Learning Through End of Spring Semester 2020

by Web Services

Wilkes University has made the difficult decision to extend remote learning through the end of the semester, including final examinations. The decision was made based on the guidance of federal, state and local health officials, that the accelerated spread of COVID-19 will result in increased confirmed cases across our region and our country and that we must do all we can to flatten the curve and protect all members of our community.

A final decision about the University’s spring commencement, currently planned for May 16, 2020, will be made by April 15. The University is committed to holding a commencement ceremony for graduates on a future date in the event that the May ceremony must be postponed.

At this time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Wilkes University. Wilkes University is actively monitoring COVID-19 and its spread. A committee of campus members representing health services, student life, academic affairs and emergency management are meeting regularly to discuss the latest developments and the University’s ongoing response. Please visit www.wilkes.edu/coronavirus for details and a message from interim President Paul Adams. Wilkes will continue to update the campus community as needed.
