Wilkes doctor of education student Marilyn Pryle has been named the 2019 Teacher of the Year. Pryle received the honor during the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s annual professional development conference in Hershey.
Pryle is currently pursuing her Ed.D. degree at Wilkes University. She teaches English at Abington Heights High School.
The state Department of Education and the state chapter of the National State Teacher of the Year sponsor the Teacher of the Year program. The program honors kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers in public education who have made outstanding academic contributions.
Pryle was nominated by students, parents, peers and members of the community for her achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
