Wilkes University will hold its annual Homecoming Weekend on Sept. 27 – 29, 2024, including its annual Family Day on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Over 400 students and their families will be together on campus, mingling with over 400 of our alumni, faculty and staff as they all take part in the Homecoming activities and games. Many of the festivities will include classic crowd-favorites such as Pints with Professors, Tailgate Tent and Kisses to Cancer 5K as well as new activities like the Wilkes Par-Tee Mini Golf & Games, an open climb opportunity on the rock wall in the McHale Athletic Center and more.
A schedule of all Wilkes University Homecoming 2024 events can be found here.
During the Wilkes vs. St. John Fisher football game on Saturday, there will be a few special activities:
1974 Wilkes Homecoming Queen Marjorie Hingston will be on-field with President Greg Cant to congratulate this year’s Homecoming Royalty. Hingston is celebrating her 50th reunion this year.
Joe Frappolli ’69 will receive the Ancestral Colonel Award at halftime in recognition of his legendary 50-year career as head coach of the Florence High School Flashes. At Wilkes, Frappolli was a member of the famed Golden Horde football team under Rollie Schmidt. Known as Dean of South Jersey Football, he was recognized last year by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and former NFL quarterback Michael Vick for his contribution to the sport.
The Ancestral Colonel Awards were first presented in 2005 to recognize accomplished alumni and friends who have achieved personal and professional excellence, and have perpetuated a camaraderie and spirit among and for Wilkes alumni. The honorees, past and present, epitomize the spirit and energy exhibited on the Wilkes campus.
Crowds of alumni, students, families and the community will be celebrating this weekend.
