Script Your Future is a national campaign designed to educate consumers about the need to take medication as prescribed.
Steph Nowak, a P3 pharmacy student from Exeter, Pennsylvania, is one member of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy team hosting community engagement events to help people “Stick to the Script.”
Why did you decide to study pharmacy?
Almost my whole family works in healthcare, so growing up I always knew it was a path I wanted to follow. I ultimately chose pharmacy because it has so many career options and Wilkes has a great program close to home.
What do you enjoy most about the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy?
How supportive our faculty is here at the NSoP. They care so much about their students and make me feel like I can accomplish anything I put my mind to!
If you weren’t a pharmacy major, what major would you choose and why?
If I didn’t go to pharmacy school I think I would’ve gone to school to be a physical therapist. I am a big sports fan so I think it would be fun to get to work for a big sports organization.
Why is Script Your Future important to you?
Script Your Future allows us to help the surrounding Wilkes-Barre area by providing free education and resources to underserved populations. Through our events, I get to build relationships with members of our community and learn how I can better help them as a future pharmacist.
What do you enjoy most about Script Your Future?
The past two years I have really enjoyed our event at Northeast Sight Services in Exeter. The members are very eager to learn and they are so fun to talk with. This event is also in my hometown which makes it even more special!
