Wilkes University Welcomes Writers to Campus for Residency and Public Readings from Jan. 6-11

1/5 UPDATE: The Winter Reading Series events on Jan. 6 & 7 have been cancelled because of potential inclement weather.

The Maslow Family Graduate Program in Creative Writing will host its Winter Reading Series at Wilkes University from Jan. 6 to 11. Held in conjunction with the creative writing program’s January residency, the event features program faculty, alumni and guest writers spanning the genres of fiction, creative nonfiction, screenplays, stage plays and poetry.

The Winter Reading Series schedule includes:

Monday, Jan. 8 | 7 to 8:15 p.m.
Jean and Paul Adams Commons, second floor of the Henry Student Center
The faculty/alumni reading features work from Beverly Donofrio, J. Michael Lennon, Christy Moore, Adrienne Pender and Alice O’Neill. Book signing to follow.

Tuesday, Jan. 9 | 7 to 8:15 p.m.
Jean and Paul Adams Commons, second floor of the Henry Student Center

The evening features readings by program faculty David Hicks, Taylor Polites and Nancy McKinley, as well as visiting writer Sari Fordham. Book signing to follow.

Wednesday, Jan. 10 | 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts

The evening features a staged reading of Once Upon a Monster by faculty member Christine Renee Miller, directed by faculty member Gregory Fletcher.

Thursday, Jan. 11 | 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts

The final evening of the series features readings by visiting writers Jerry Wemple, ReShonda Tate Billingsley, Leah Vernon and Tim Seibles. Book signing to follow.

All events are free and open to the public.
