Meet Super Senior Megan Kramer: Passan School of Nursing

To celebrate the achievements of our soon-to-be graduates, News@Wilkes will highlight stand-out seniors throughout senior week and in the week following commencement.

Megan Kramer

Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Passan School of Nursing

                                                                                                  
Hometown: Taneytown, Md.

Activities and Achievements: Kramer waspresident of the Nursing Student Organization (NSO) and class representative for the senior nursing class. During her time at Wilkes, she was a resident assistant in University Towers for the last two years. She also participated in several community service outreach programs including the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer’s Association. Kramer also participated in several events through the NSO. The group held fundraisers, community service opportunities and nursing gatherings. Her senior capstone research was on critical incident stress debriefing for nurses in order to decrease burn out and PTSD.

Noteworthy: Kramer earned the Resident Assistant of the Year award, the Senior Student Standout and the Leadership in Nursing award.

Favorite part of the Wilkes Experience: “There are numerous highlights throughout my time here at Wilkes. My most treasured ones would be the love of nursing that I have acquired during my journey and the wonderful lifelong friends that I have the utmost respect for and I am so grateful our paths have crossed. The Passan School of Nursing has instilled in me the leadership qualities and nursing skills needed for me to begin my career and I could not be thankful.”

Future plans: Kramer’s immediate goals are to graduate and pass the NCLEX exam. She then hopes to begin a job as an RN in an ICU in Maryland. In the future, Kramer hopes to return to graduate school to obtain a Pediatric Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner degree, which will help her pursue her dream of becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. Kramer hopes to start a family and be able to give back to her parents in return for all the support they gave her throughout this journey.
