Wilkes Adventure Education Program Spends Spring Break in Ireland

by Web Services

Students in Wilkes University’s Adventure Education program are spending spring break 2019 hiking and touring in Ireland. Under the direction of Jill Price, adventure education coordinator, students planned the trip. Each student suggested one thing they would like to do in Ireland and the trip was planned to accommodate as many of the requests as possible.

The group drove around the Emerald Isle with stops at the Cliffs of Mohr, St. Brigid’s Well, the Giants Causeway, the Dark Hedges – famous as a “Game of Thrones” location – as well as Galway and Killarney. Although Wilkes Adventure Education is famous for its camping experiences, students on the Ireland trip stayed in hostels with colorful names like Black Sheep and the Slemish Barn. Members of the group made their own meals in most locations. Activities included hiking, horseback riding and other adventures.
