Three Wilkes University students were commissioned and received the rank of second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. The commissioning ceremony was hosted on Dec. 6 by Air Force ROTC Detachment 752 at Wilkes. The event was held in the Henry Student Center and was attended by family, friends and staff.
The students who received commissions as second lieutenants are:
- Brian Paul McKenna of Hillsdale, N.J.
McKenna will graduate in Wilkes’ winter commencement ceremony. with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, he will be stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., where he will receive pilot training.
- Wyatt Owen Sebring of Milford, Pa.
Sebring will graduate in Wilkes’ winter commencement ceremony with a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering. After graduation, he will be stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., where he will receive pilot training.
- James Leonard Boland II of Port Carbon, Pa.
Boland graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree in 2017. He will be stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, and will serve as an Air Force air battle manager.
