Heather Sincavage has been appointed director of the Sordoni Art Gallery and assistant professor of art at Wilkes University. Sincavage comes to Wilkes from the University of Maine at Presque Isle where she served as a faculty member in art with the responsibility of running the campus art gallery. She joins the Wilkes community on July 18.
Sincavage is an accomplished visual artist with many solo and other exhibitions to her credit, including shows in Spain, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Texas and elsewhere in the United States. Her work as an artist has earned her residencies and fellowships in Finland, Spain, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. Sincavage previously held appointments at Kutztown University, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and Lehigh University.
As a gallery director she has overseen all phases of gallery operations: community outreach, planning and executing exhibitions, fund-raising and supervising student curatorial projects. Sincavage’s experience also includes responsibility for a major relocation project.
Sincavage graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University and then earned her master of fine arts from the University of Washington.
